Cycling is the first taste of independent  mobility for children and maintaining the bike is crucial.

As physical development is seen as an important part of personal growth all children have games and PE and experience cooperative and competitive games. Children also take part in outdoor pursuits. Other experiences such as yoga, and meditation are also sometimes on offer.

Children are encouraged to have bikes at school and to ride them around the grounds. The school participates in actvities such as National Cycle Week, when children are taught bike maintenance and road safety skills and take part in expeditions on the many safe lanes near the school.

For older children there are opportunities throughout the year for activities such as ice skating and rock climbing or canoeing on the nearby River Dart.

Camping trips are also part of the life of the school. The younger children camp at school whilst older children make residential and camping trips further afield.
